Read and Enjoy!
The past still lives. Enjoy it in the short stories written by friends and neighbors in Outagamie Co. and other areas of the state that we, Quintin & Audrey Thede have compiled and published in the following three books:
Outagamie County Detention Camp:
These are stories behind the Detention Camp, previously located in the Town of Bovina in Outagamie County and other short stories of that time and locality. 68 pages, soft cover, 18+ articles.
Personal Stories We All Have Them, Memories at Home During WW II:
This book is a collection of stories by various friends and neighbors on their personal experiences growing up here at home during WW II. The following members of our congregation have written stories for this book: Raymond Boodry, Bill Herminath, Margaret Leeman, Louis Mielke, Dolores Oberstadt, and Quintin & Audrey Thede. There are also 20 other local friends and neighbors who contributed wonderful stories. The book has 148 pages, soft cover, with 42 stories.
This book takes us back to memories we often reflect on in our lives and would like to remember and share with others. These were written by friends and neighbors to share with others to enjoy.
Articles written or donated by members of our congregation are: Janet Warmbier, Dolores Oberstadt, Russel & Marguerite Winterfeldt, Pastor Paul Hinz, and Quintin & Audrey Thede. Twenty-five other friends and neighbors from around the area and state have also given us stories of memories from their lives. Some humorous, some heartwarming, and some might bring a tear to your eye. There is a listing of all the residents in the Town of Maine in 2010, a map from 1917 compared with a map from 2004, and a picture section of all the local businesses and their owners in the Town of Maine. 238 pages, soft cover, 48+ articles and picture sections.
